CarEye® Safety Angle
State-of-the-art, intelligent blind-spot assistant for heavy-duty vehicles
A number of accidents involving cyclists and pedestrian occur when big vehicles, such a trucks, manoeuvre or stop at junctions, as drivers are seated high up in their cab with limited ‘direct vision’ of what’s around them.
Brigade Electronics, together with the Austrian safety and sensor technology company, EYYES, have developed a ground-breaking technology that aims to increase road safety conditions in these circumstances.
The CarEye® Safety Angle (CSA) is a next-generation intelligent blind-spot assistant designed specifically for heavy-duty vehicles, buses and coaches. This cutting-edge technology combines a wing camera with pixel recognition and artificial intelligence (AI) that is placed at the side of the vehicle, acting as a sensor.
CarEye® can reliably detect pedestrians or cyclists in an extended monitoring area alongside the vehicle. Using AI based on deep learning algorithms and neural networks, it then calculates the risk of collision. In dangerous situations it warns the driver with audible and visual signals to avoid a possible collision with exceptionally short reaction time and with no recorded false alarms during the testing phase. The system is able to differentiate between cars, trucks, people, bicycles and static objects, such as trees or bollards, providing drivers with absolute peace of mind that they can manoeuvre their vehicle with the utmost safety.
Brigade’s CarEye® Safety Angle is an excellent example of precision engineering, making the roads safer for pedestrians and cyclists.
